Welcome New Families! – Answers to Common Questions

In an effort to minimize the number of Listserv emails asking the same questions over and over, we ask that families and parents refer to this post first.

We are monitoring the Listserv and will do our best to answer questions as they come in.
Thank you!
Tyra Duhan and Laura Buonomo, Central HSA Co-Presidents
1. Please check the Central High website.
There is wealth of information on the site and most questions can be answered by familiarizing yourself with its content.

2. There is no supply list.
Central High has close to 2,400 students in four grades and over 100 teachers. Every student will have a different schedule with different teachers all of whom have different supply requirements. New students should bring a notebook and pen to roster run-through on August 23 (8:00am-12:00pm) and to the first few days of school. Teachers will let them know supply requirements then.
3. Please attend Summer New Student Orientation.
Orientation is scheduled for August 13, 14, 15, 16 from 8:30am until 12:00pm. You only have to attend one of those days. Assigned days are based on last name, please see link above to check which day you should attend.
If you are unable to attend on your assigned day, you can attend on any of the other three days. CHS administration and staff feel that the information provided on these days is invaluable to helping students have the best start possible.
4. Sports pre-seasons start on August 13.
If you have not been able to get in touch with the coach about your specific sport (see Athletics link above) then simply show up on the morning of August 13.
